THE WEDDING

Marriage is the union of two individuals and this union can be best described in the quote of Franz Joseph -' Two souls with but a single thught, Two heart that beat as one'

Wedding is a dream for every single person. And so Ming Lee and Joanne had their dream wedding in this church in Melbourne....

Though it is said that marriages are made in heaven, the preparations of such a heavenly affair must be done by mortal hands...so after a lot planning and ????????? finally Ming Lee and Joanne had their dream wedding in this church..

Yes and Anglican Church...not a Catholic Church...Ming Lee is Anglican..

Inside the church

The Chus arrived quite early to the church with Mitchelle and Joel...(in fact we were one of the earliest to arrive)
Even got time to take a photo with the "minister" who is going to conduct the wedding...
So mumise got plenty of time to take photos before the arrival of bride and other guests...

Christine getting ready for the guests "to sign in"

Mumsie with her sister....

Getting ready for the wedding ceremony....

The organist....

The little page boy waiting patiently to perform his duties...(Pageboys ar normally beween the ages of 5 and 10...) The pageboy traditonally could either carry the rings on a cushion to the bride and groom or walk behind the bride down the aisle carrying the trail of her dress....I suppose Stephen is too young to perform either of the duty....This is a dilemma many brides face it they have very young nephews..If you

don't have them then you might offend your relatives....But having Stephen add an element of innocent childlike charm and warmth to the wedding ceremony...The gorgeous sight of him dressed like the 'groom' is enough to melt even the most cynical of hearts....Well done Stephen!!!

Wonder when is his turn to be the groom??????

Mother and son...do they look alike??

Mother and pretty daughter

The bridegroom waiting at the altar patiently for his bride...

Here comes the page boy leading the procession into the church...
The Flower Girl...following behind Stephen. For centuries bridal flower girls have symbolized the fertility of the nuptial union and melted the hardest of hearts with their cherub-like looks and angelic smiles....I'm sure she feels like a princess.....walking down the aisle with all eyes and photographers on her....Believe me flower girls and page boys are always a hit with the crowds and the newly weds as they add a element of priceless fairytale charm and adorableness to one's special day......!!!

The Bridesmaid

Here comes the bride all dress in white. I supposed most people adopt the traditional Western custom of a bride wearing a white dress....(Traditonally the Chinese bride wears red, which is associated with courage, loyalty, honor, success, fortune, fertility, happiness and passion in Chinese culture) This tradition white dress came to symbolize purity in the Victorian era (despite popular misconception, the white dress did not indicate virginity.

The father of the bride..It's the role of the father of the bride to escort his daughter down the aisle at a church wedding...mumsie should have asked him what was on his mind as he walks down the aisle ???? Happiness ?????? Intermingles with ????? sadness cos he is giving away his favourtie girl to another guy????

(QUOTE ...It kills you to seem them grow up...But I guess it would kill you quicker if they didn't)

Then the wedding ceremony begins..

The minister highlighted the importance of the fact that the bride and groom family and friends are here to share and witness their marriage . And both the bride and groom were asked to promise in God's presence and in the presence of family and friends "to comfort, honour and protect each other and to be faithful to each other for as long as they both shall live"

Facing each other here the bride and groom make their wedding vows........then the couple exchange rings...as a ' a sign of their
marriage and a reminder of their vows"

Sealed with a kiss...

The signing of the register...as a legal requirement.....
The wedding "team" bride, bridegroom, maid of honor, bridesmaid, and the bestman

Once the register has been signed, they are now officially "Man & Wife"
It is usual to have one or more readings from the Bible...and this is the reading chosen by ??????ooops mumsie dunno. Mumise loves most of the "wedding readings" cos it is a gentle reminder of "what marriage is all about"

Another photo of the wedding kiss
Mr & Mrs LEE walking down the aisle.

Outside ther church

Dadda and Simon
A helping hand from the bridesmaid
After the 'seroious ceremony' in the church,,,outside the church the Newly weds...gotta minggled with the guests and "newly aquired relatives"

Bride with her cousin and cousin-brother-inlaw (to be) Ya they'll be getting married next March
The happy crowd
The "christmas tree" of the day (heavily laden with
everybody's coats, bags and ect ect.....)
See when those things were not hanging on Simon...

WE ARE FAMILY

More relatives....
The newly-weds with friends
Just before we leave for the 'Wedding Reception'

The church from the other side of the road

A wedding is often followed or accompained by a wedding reception, so here we are gathered at the Fenix in Richmond
Cocktail before the actual Eating !Cheers and Good health
Oooooo what are they eating ???
Some nice finger-licking 'dips'
"Getting to know you" time...Jie-jie
chatting with Ming Lee's sister and mother
Dadda getting aquanted with Ming Lee's father.....who happens to work in S'pore (Professor in Singapore Uni)but staying in JB

The actual eating...
The newly weds with their Best Man and Bridesmaids...

I suppose this is an important and memorable meal for the newly married Bride and Groom as they share their first meal together as a lawfully wedded couple.
Girl Power ????
The elaborate wedding cake..to be cut by the Bride and Groom later...A wedding is one of the sweetest moments in one's life, and to compliment the great occasion, it is only natural to serve sweets...So cakes, like sweets are an integral part of a Western wedding. Tradition demands that the bride and the groom share the first piece of the cake, after which other guests partake of it.. Sometimes, a portion is preserved so that the couple can share it either on their first wedding anniversary or on the birth of their first child...(so bear a child quick before your cake gets 'mouldy !!!!!') Why does wedding cake has so many layers???? (mumsie's explaination- it would be nice to cater to the different tastes of the guests...so to achieve this, each layer can have a different flavor...cos the basic idea or tradition of the wedding cake is to make the occasion memorable, to be cherished by the couple as well as their friends and loved ones!!!) The tradition of serving cakes is laudable, as it symbolizes the sweetness, prosperity, fertility, and love fostered through marriage...See don't play play everything like the simple cake carries a deep meaning and tradition....
The menu.....
The starter
The fish dish
The desert

Traditionally the father of the bride is the first person to make a speech, so here he is making a speech....

Then the father of the groom's turn to make a speech
Western and Eastern (Chinese - Yum Sing)) tradition include toasting to the couple..
The newlyweds having their first dance...
A Romatic First Wedding Dance....Hey there's more to dancing than just holding and swaying, and so to create an unforgettable reception mumsie was told that Ming Lee and Joanne went for dancing classes!!!!(Don't play play man) so as to creat a wedding reception highlight everyone will enjoy and remember...

Now the bride throws her bouquet to the assembled group of unmarried women because folklore suggested that the person who catches it will be the next to wed...,
Oooooo what's he doing....Well a modern tradition is for the brides to wear or carry " something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue"
during her wedding. It is considered good luck to do so..Here the bride is wearing a blue garter and the groom with his hands tied is trying to remove the blue garter and then throws it to the assembled unmarried men
And the man who catches it is supposedly the next to wed...none of these guys wants to remain a bachelor for long...look how eager they are to catch the garter!!!
Well gotta to end this blog here....getting toooooo long...shall continue mumsie's trip to Melbourne and the Wedding in Melbourne next before the S'pore reception....

JOANNE'S AND MING LEE'S HOUSE

Dadda and mumsie flew to Melbourne recently to attend mumsie's sister's daughter, Joanne's
wedding...and here is their invitation card... Mumsie supposed the wedding invitation will certainly set the tone of one's big day...This is why one would like to make it unique...As a matter of fact, it is probably one of the first few items one need to consider when one is planning for ones big day...This is because you have to send the invitations before you tie the knot...And off course this big day is certainly the most memorable day in one's life!

The traditional wedding card is normally red but nowadays the modern Chinese wedding invitation designs are very unique in a way that they are suitable for you no matter what the theme of your big day is...Some may wnat to surprise their guests with their unique wedding card...I suppose the underlying meaning of the unique wedding invitations is that one is sharing one's joy and happiness when she presents her card to her guests...

After the church wedding in Melbourne we were also invited to the wedding banquet the following Saturday @ Singapore

Mumsie came across this invitation card...wonder if this is a common practice to send invitation cards to one's siblings and parents????

Anyway the night before the church wedding we were invited to the couple's house for cakes and coffee..(suppose this is what we call "orang putih" style....must be invited , you just can't drop in...) In Malaysia without invitation we expect our "nearest and dearest" ("relatives and friends") to drop by the night before the wedding "to make some noise" and for some "small makan" .......This is the lane that leads into their house

Notice the red banner above the door?

It is common practise for most Chinese to place a red banner above their main door during weddings. The banner can often have auspicious wordings or simply a plain red banner. RED symbolises prosperity for the Chinese.. RED is also a very lucky colour for the CHINESE, it frightens off monsters...RED to the Chinese also represents good fortune, fame and riches!

The lane leading to their house..
The neighbourhood....
Inside the house by the stair-case
The kitchen cum dinning
We were taken for a tour of the house by Joanne...the bedroom
The sitting room cum TV room

The TV cum sitting room
The sitting room opens into their garden
The toilet...and what's inside there??
The study room Here Christine and Joachim are helpping mumsie to transfer some of mumsie's photos to mumsie's thumbdrive....
What a nice house!!!!
The study room

Still at the study room
The garage These guys are more interested in eating rather than "touring the house" The dinning room is just next to the kitchen with no partition...
Food glorious fooooood!!!
Yummy chocolate cake....

Still at the kitchen...
The couch opposite the dinning table
Oooops we are not part of the house...but part of the family....
Still at the couch in the dinning cum kitchen
Still by the stairs...one of the aunts brought this flower-girl's dress...
Well that's all about the house shall put up more pics of the wedding in my next blog....

BREAKING NEWS !!!!

Mumsie is very very very sure that this blog will bring a smile to Linny's face!!!!! Guaranteed!
The Chu family has on and off been to this place for dinner...(MAYBE about twice a year!!!)
Maybe because this place is not "air-con" so the children is not very comfortable coming here!!
Anyway we nick-named this restaurant as "the mad-man's restaurant" Cos the owner of this place is a bit queer.....(by the way his sister's children will come back from Japan and Hongkong to deliver their babies in our hospital and his son toooo delivered his children in CSM)
You never get a proper bill and you WILL never know how much are you paying for each dish...When the bill comes you just pay the amount written on a tiny piece paper...queer isn't it?? Sometimes the boss doesn't allow you to order what you like...he'll tell you that's not nice and he sets the menu for you.....or He just muttered "the dish is not on the menu today..." And if you want to order more dishes he'll stop you ..he'll say enough you won't be able to finish it...
And on today's Straits Times Newspaper...in the Johor Column (THE JOHOR STREET) there was a write-up about this "mad-man's " restaurant.....

And a photo of the Big-boss himself..(ya this is the "the Chus' Mad-man")

A close-up of his photo..

Well you can read all about this restaurnt from these photos...Actually mumsie & dadda was introduced to this restaurant by our Surgeon Mr Gan in 1988. At that time the shop was located just a few doors away from the now standing "New Hongkong" restaurant...but they gotta move cos all the shops along that road was demolished..

Just as the above newspapper reported they moved to Jalan Stulang Laut...(here there is a mistake on the above reporting...the restaurant only moved to Jalan Stulang Laut from 2000 and not 1977 it was still next to New HongKong restaurant then) Must be fated...they got "shoved off" again this time cos all the shops along that road too got demolished....AGAIN !!!!! (& who says that lightning never strikes at the same place TWICE????)

Read this part of the newspaper..and you'll know why the Chu calls him " Mad man"

Well being Wednesday today mumsie was able to ask Dadda to take mumsie there for lunch ....

The Straits Times put these 2 dishes

in their reporting...
So Dadda brought mumsie here to look for Hak Seng Restaurant...
Hak Seng Restaurant...

And with the sign board sticking out on the third floor we thougt we gotta climb up there to look for the restaurant...
Acutally it was on the ground floor and was part of Lion Hotel..in fact its premesis initially housed the hotel's coffee house.. We found his nephew standing near the resturant door ..if not we wouldn't know that this is the restaurant that we're looking for...Mumsie told him that we came to visit him today cos we saw the "write up" in the newspapers...and they didn't even know about it !!!!
This is part of the restaurant...and Linny should be happy to know that it is fully air-con now...Actually mumsie took a few more photo of the interior and also the exterior...but dunno why...mumsie's camera suddenly erased all mumsie's photos ..when mumsie reached home only these few were found...(DEFINITELY NEED A NEW CAMERA.....BIG BIG BIG HINT ......mumsie's Christmas present????)
Mumsie took some photo of the food we ate too....sorry unable to produce them...Anyway we took the same dish as was advertised in the Paper...the ying yang noodles...a definite YES for Linny.....(hi girl it is something like your wat darn hor)...very nice...& we too had one of their western dish...beef steak....Dadda commented that it was a bit tough...taste is not bad but the meat was a bit rubbery!!! Shall be taking Danny there in the near future....
On the way home we passed by this place where Hak Seng Restaurant used to stand...
These shops just next to Hak Seng will be the next to demolished!!!!
Maybe when we come back to Hak Seng with Danny Boy and Kor-kor mumsie might be able to post more photos......

MELBOURNE

Well we landed @ Melbourne very early in the morning...as this time mumsie did not bring any food stuff the checking out was smooth and fast...just walk straight out...Mumsie has been to Melbourne a number of times...and many many types of holidays..This time round mumsie felt very satisfying....cos mumsie just sit back and relax and let the "girls" lead the way and do the "paying" ect ect...It really is different!!
Jie-jie and Linny came and pick us at the air port and after checking into our hotel we were taken to "somewhere" nice for breakfast

Mummy had this ..tipical English breakfast
This is the enterane of the restaurant

Their windows...Unlike Malaysia our restaurants do spent a bit on window decor...in Melbourne no such thing...we wouldn't have got into here for breakfast if we were not taken by the girls!!

Then we passed by this church...Some time back when Danny Boy was in Melbourne mumsie used to come to Melbourne to "baby sit" and to cook for him and his housemates....and this church is mumsie's favourite haunting ground cos mumsie will come here daily to pray and to attend masses...Here masses are held 4-5 times daily....!!!!!! and about 5-6 priests will sing the daily psalms @ 6.30 in the morning.... Mumsie was told that TODAY, ST. FRANCIS IS THE BUSIEST CHURCH IN AUSTRALIA, WITH 43 MASSES AND OVER 10,000 vistitng worshippers EACH WEEK!!!!!
Confession is awailable in the church every day, and special masses are held each month for International Students, the Filipino Comunity and for people living with HIV (aids) St Francis' Choir sings throughout the year at the 11am Mass on Sundays....AND THIS MASS is much much much better than our Christmas eve Mass.....and we have it only ONCE A YEAR !!! IF YOU CAN, DO ATTEND ONE OF their 11 am Sunday Mass....their choir is BEAUTIFUL.....costumes and voices!!!! Highly Recommeded!!! Since its beginning the choir has worked to present the finest liturgical music of all styles and periods as part of the living liturgy of the Church. It is regarded as one of the foremost church choirs in Australia !!!
Mumsie must enter this church to offer some thanksgiving prayers (Now that Danny boy is a Doctor) and also to lift up mumsie's 1001 petitions . Isn't this beaugiful????
It is a beautiful old church. This St. Francis' Church located on the corner of Lonsdale Streetand Elizabeth Street, Melbourne (right in the middle of the city) is the oldest Catholic Church in Victoria and the oldest church on its orignal site in Melbourne. For over 160 years, St Francis' has been an important place of prayer and worship in the centre of the city of Melbourne.....and because of its central location in the city, St Francis during lunch hour mumsie noticed a lot of "workers" came in to pray @ our Lady's Shrine....situated at a corner of the church....see pic below...
Here mumsie used to sit and pray for a few hours daily..... after lighting some candles!!!! (see pic below)
Just drop some "cash" into a box @ this candle place corner and light your own candles...very convenient...
Then Linny took us to her apartment This is the front door
At the entrance is this fountain with a statue washing her hair
So Dadda is trying to wash Linny's hair here too!!
Off we go for lunch

On the way we pass by some flower stalls and mumsie really love their flowers...all fresh.....

We were booked for lunch at this restaurant....FIFTEEN...Mumsie was told that when this restaurant first opened in Melbourne you gotta wait 3 MONTHS to get your booking!!!! Fiteen Restaurant, was inspired by Jamie Oliver, and was filmed and broadcast on television as Jamie's Kitchen. Name after the first cohort of fifteen young people Jamie Oliver wanted to use his success for a good cause and so he came up with the idea of the Fifteen charity restaruant where he teaches fifteen disadvantaged people how to be successful in the hospitality industy. "Fifteen" was Jamie's first restaurant..first opened in London since then has opened several other branches at Amsterdam, and now Melbourne. The idea behind "Fifteen" is pretty simple - every year it gives a unique opportunity to a group of young people to become professional chefs. Many of them are homeless, have been raised in difficult circumstances, have spent time in prison or gone off the rails and got into drink and drugs. But at "FIFTEEN" they are inspired to break habits and believe in themselvesl to become increadibly passionate chefs...
Inside the restaurant...If you sit and eat at the bar you can get a discount of (think is ) 30%...
This is a lamp filled with 'live plant' and there are quite a few of these hanging from the celing...
We didn't know about sitting at the bar and the discount...too late we were already seated at the table....
Dadda's fish dish
Linny's risotto
Mumsie's chicken
Mumsie came across this room on the way to the toilet...wonder if you gotta pay extra to eat in here????
After lunch mumsie walked down memory lane to where Danny Boy used to stay...and where mumsie used to stay when she came to "baby-sit" No mumsie didn't stay with Danny and his room-mates, mumsie booked an apartment here a few floors below theirs..."Nova Stargate Apartment"..situated between the central business district and the Queen Victoria Market is only a five minute walk to Melbourne's central shopping area and St Francis' Church. And coincidently it is on the same street as Linny's apartment..(so no excuse for Linny to miss her Sunday Mass)
This is the front of the building
And our present hotel is very near here ..from our hotel window mumsie took this photo of Queen Victoria Market, said to be the southern hemisphere's largest open-air market offering a variety of fresh farm produce and, on Sundays, a wider range of merchant items which turn the market into a modern Arabian Night bazaar. For the visitor to Melbourne, the Queen Victoria Market is a must must visit.. with a range of uniquely Australian items and souvenirs to take back home, as well as being a source of bargain-priced local and imported goods...Sad to say mumsie spent only about 10 minutes here this time cos there are so much other things to do and to see...
For dinner Jie-jie took us to 'NOBU' a glamour restaurant at upmarket Crown Entertainment Complex in Southbank Melbourne. ..again must make booking it is always full.....Mumsie was told that Actor Robert De Niro and chef Nobu Matsuhisa and film produce Meir Teper started Nobu ...(This is what mumsie noticed..."powereful connections" does help your business with celebrity tag and status...) The original restaurant was in New York, the Nobu brand is now an empire that spans the globe, from London to Tokyo, Las Vegas to Malibu, Milan to Miami Beach, Dallas to Paradise Island, The Bahamas, HongKong to Waikkiki. Their newest locationis Melbourne. The ambience suggests an aura of affluence. No matter where the restaurant is situated, Matsuhisa's is a cuisine that incorporates local ingredients and influences onto basic Japanese food. (Fusion of Japanese and Western) "Order with no eye on the budget" cos Jie-jie is footing the bill!!!..and she suggested we go for the Omakase, which is the chef's choice of "8 course dinner"...This is where the chef picks his best eight dishes which are served in small portions. You don't know what you are getting but you know it will be the best. Most of the food is good to very good. Mumsie is sure that the price of that night's dinner must be extraordinary!!! Is it worth it???..well only if you have some cash to spare (as in this case someone pays for you) and don't mind going for the experience.... We staarted off with a complimentary serving of edamame beans. These are green soybeans still in the pod, boiled then sprinkled with sea salt. You are supposed to bite open the pod and eat the beans, leaving behind the pod. Believe it or not mumsie was intoduced to this by an Israeli lady...who took mumsie to a Japanese restaurant in S'pore but she taught mumsie to eat this with wasabi...which mumsie thinks taste better.
This is the starter All is produced with fresh local Australian seafood Our first course...
Presentation of the food was quite unique.

We were served by this waitress from Thailand...(see pic) who was incredibly polite and service orientated. Very friendly and explained to us each and every dishes
This is their very famous Wagyu dish The beef Tenderloin came smoking hot straight out of the wood fired oven..
You'll find it impossible to avoid some kind of contact with this dish..."the black cod with miso" probably the most widely known Nobu signature...the waiters will definetly recommend it...Imported from Japan, the cod is marinated in a miso-based paste for days and roasted. (mumsie noticed the price of this dish whilst scanning through the menu....The fish was wrapped in a bamboo leaf with small droplets of Miso sauce on the side and a pickeled ginger stalk... Aussie dollar $18/(x3 = ringgit 54/-) Mumsie really took her time to eat this slowly so she can enjoy each individual flake....since the price is fantastic!!!)
Last but not least our last bit of the menu....a cup of foamy coffee..
Photo taken just outside the restaurant
The next day mumsie and dadda was taken to Mornington Peninsula which is only some hours drive from Melburne. The Mornington Peninsula has a long history of being a favourite holiday destination for residents of Melburne.

mumise really loves their nusery with plenty of fresh flowers and herbs...
If only mumsie can buy some of these home!!

Then we came here for lunch cos we saw this sign boasting the best vanilla slice...
Mumsie and Jie-jie had minestrone soup .Joel. Linny and Dadda had the dishes below but mumsie didn't know which is whose???

Roast pork....
Dadda and his pitta bread
Dadda had this mint tea...tooooo
After lunch we drove to Cape Schanck. It is the southernmost tip of the Mornington Peninsula. The most recognisable symbol of Cape Schanck is the Cape Schanck Lighthouse.

Can you see the tiny Lighthouse behind us????

The Cape Schanck Lighthouse is a facinating piece of Victoria's history...The museum and lighthouse are open to public everyday
for tours. Here one can buy tickets ($12/ per adult x 3 =36+/ RINGGIT) for conducted tours...but none of us was interested. So we chose the nearby walking tracks that lead to lookouts with spectauclar views of the coast!!! (And this is free!!!)

This lighthouse is one of the few still operating...

Beautiful scenary...

As we walk along this track we gotta see some fo the best coastal scenery near Melburne...

Mumsie is trying to make Dadda "support the lighthouse" with his hands.....

Joel's car
We wanted to go to a strawberry farm to pick strawberry but was told that it is not in season yet..so we drove to a Maze Garden

Here we are at Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Gardens ...This place is home to Australia's oldest & most famous hedge maze. (Actuall y Dadda read about this place from S'pore's "TODAY" 's Newspaper before we left for Melbourne...) Getting some directions before we enter the Maze

Here we are...it is mumsie's first time in a Maze so mumsie made very sure that she hung on to somebody...didn't want to be left behind......Joel was telling us that he got a formula so that we won't get lost in the Maze...but his
formula didn't work....!!!

imagine yourself getting lost inside here????
Finally we got out....whilst we were in the Maze we heard some "China women" commenting that one of them wanted to "pee" wonder if they got out in time for her????? You can hear voices but don't actually see them cos the hedges are very tall....

This place is huge..and they can arrange a fully guided tour along with informative talks ....but we prefer to "stumble" around on
our own.

After getting out of the Maze we roam around the garden hunting for gnomes and fairies...We were given a slip of paper to fill up the names of the gnomes and fairies hidden among these trees..and if we can find them all we will be given some "lollies"....(Big Deal)
This place boasts of more than 4000 year round flowering lavender bushes ! 25 acres of internationally acclaimed garden settings with over 10 garden displays with individual themes that chag with every season of the year....and the oldest circular Rose Maze in the world
See this gnome here???

And this is a fairly

Gnomes and fairies of different shapes and sizes.....Gnomes are supposed to be be symbols of Good Luck...
So what is the differnce between gnomes and fairies...Well fairies are easily identifiable by their large butterfly or insect-like wings. Fairies are very small and are often seen interacting with small forest creatures like toads, insects, and mice. Whilst gnomes have tall pointed hats and long beards. They are a dindly forest people and are often depicted as friends with local woodland animals. They are not usually seen in the company of humans....(NOW YOU KNOW!!)
Their names are written under them

Dadda making sure that he wrote each and everyone down on his paper!!! (Don't play play)

mumsie didn't need pen and paper musmsie just used her camera to capture them......

Dadda's list of gnomes and fairies!!
We managed to complete our findings!
Dadda amongst the lavender
You can visit this site on your YouTube http://www.ashcombemaze.com.au/
Guess who is behind this board???????
and this one??????
Finally we finished our tour of the garden and ended in their cafe....

Dadda and mumsie's scones
Celine enjoying her drink

Dadda's ..think is chocalate drink.
After this we gotta drive back to Melbourne...was invited by the bride to her house for coffee and cakes.....Wonder if mumsie can squeeze any more food into her????

ASK AND YOU SHALL BE GIVEN!

This morning's Gospel reading in church (taken from Luke 11:5-13) was mumsie's favourtie!!!!! And mumsie would like to share it with you....Every day before leaving the house, mumsie would stand infront of the altar or before leaving the church after Mass mumsie would remind "the fella up-there" about this passage! And it goes like this......

Jesus said to his disciples: "Suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him in the middle of the night to say, "My friend, lend me three loaves, because a friend of mine on his travels has just arrived at my hous and I have nothing to offer him," and the man answers from inside the house, "Do not bother me. The door is bolted now, and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up to give it to you." I tell you, if the man does not get up and give it him for friendship's sake, persistence will be enough to make him get up and give his friend all he wants.

"So I say to you: Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For the one who asks always receives; the one who searches always finds; the one who knocks will always have the door opened to him. What father among you would hand his son a stone when he asked for bread? Or hand him a snake instead of a fish? Or hand him a scorpion if he asked for an egg? If you then, who are evil know how to give your children what is good, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!!!!"

Now wonder if you believe in miracles???? Just 10 days after Danny Boy started work his car's windows were smashed and the bag containing all his ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS ....bank book, letters of appointment, EPF document, birth certificate, and his MEDICAL DECREE AWARDS
ect ect were taken by the thief....Now as Dadda says the thief can sell these documents to some smart guy who can then create another DOCTOR DANIEL CHU....!!!! It is not just the hussle of making police reports and reports to the various ,various departments about the loss...it is THIS threat that worries mumsie and dadda...so mumsie began to "hammer at heaven's doors" and mumsie did ask for a miracle.....LIKE please let some good kind soul finds the document and sent it back to us........BELIEVE IT OR NOT YESTERDAY (after more than 2-3 months!!!) WE GOT A PHONE CALL from the college THAT SOMEONE DID SEND THE MEDICAL CERTIFICATE (and dunno whatelse) back to Melaka-Manipal Medical College!!!!! See the wonder of PRAYERS!!

Wedding in MELBOURNE

SINGAPORE AIR-LINES A380....a double-deck airliner...
Mumsie and Dadda flew to Melbourne on 30/9/09 via Terminal 3 Changi Airport to attend Joane's wedding...We flew by the brand new Singapore Airlines A380 (THE WORLD'S LARGEST PASSENGER AIRCRAFT..)who boasts from roomier seats to the widest choice of on-demand entertainment options..In flight entertainment was presented on a LCD screen.. Service...not good...air-hostess speaks "Singlish" (If mumsie finds it difficult to understand their anouncement wonder how the other "international travelers" finds it????) Anyway it was a full flight...so very very crowded...nothing to boast about.. MAS definitely beats them in service and FOOD....mumsie have been flying for quite a bit...SIA's food is really nothing to shout about!!!
Since it is Raya Season...some Raya decor at the airport...
One of Dadda's "little ones" bought him this T-shirt...with the words "the two idiots are behind me" and mumsie was behind him all the while...
At the check in counter...this guy was behind him...and he commented...there's only one idiot following ...
After checking in we went to relax at the DBS lounge
Well mumsie had been to the one in Terminal 2 with Jie-Jie and Linny and Joel...some 2 yrs ago before we flew to Egypt.../or was it
to Italy????
A first of its kind, DBS Asia Treasures at Changi is a by-invitation-only banking experience at the transit areas of Changi Airport Terminal 2 and 3...In this exclusive banking centre..there are Treasures Relationship Managers on hand to cater to all your banking needs..from best foreign currency exchange rates to securing travel insurance..and can indulge oneself in a range of exquiste services like fine dining and private limousine service...We were told that should we require a limousine pick-up on our return, simply leave our arrival details with their staff members at DBS Asia Treasures...and when we arrive back at Changi Airport, we will be greeted with a complimentary ride to a destination in Singapore....ooooo . This place is supposed to be fully equipped and can tend to all your business needs with faxing, printing, binding, lamination and internet services while you await your flight!!!
Here Dadda is trying to choose his food
The toilet inside their lounge is very "classy"

This is @ Terminal 3 Changi's new "addition" Mumsie will show the DBS lounge at Terminal 2, which mumsie thinks is "bigger" and nicer
Here it is DBS lounge at Terminal 2 Linny at their IT centre...
-Inside DBS lounge of Terminal 2....
Jie-jie waiting for her food ..which is being cooked and not off the "table"
Most of us ordered Wan-ton mee...
the following photos are taken from (DBS 's lounge @ Terminal 2) toilet

Jie-jie trying out their wash basins!!!
After washing your hands you are most welcome to "dash" whatever lotion on yourself...
This is @ Terminal 3 -mumise still prefers the ones at Terminal 2
Mumsie had fried rice ...think I prefered the wan-ton mee at Terminal 2...
Mumsie asked for sambal belachan...
Then we bumped into this "full-size F1 racing car!" Johnnie Walker Black Label is of course one of the sponsors of the Vodafone Mercedes McLaren team. And it is interesting to see how well Johnnie Walker marketed their product...using the theme "anti drink-driving campaign"
First, Dadda must sign the "Join the Pact" pledge, declaring that he will never drink and drive....Then both dadda and mumsie have a chance to have our photos taken in front of the car and have our faces "transplanted" onto the body of an F1 driver, thanks to neat digital technology!!!
Here Dadda is waiting for our "instantly produced digital photographs", and whilst waiting we were invited to try a Johnnie Walker Black cocktail (mixed with lemonade and mint) but both of us didn't try the sample...But it was still great fun...See for yourself....our photos below ! All this for FREE!!!!

What a stunning promotion at Terminal 3! I'm sure track star Lewis Hamilton has helped this Scotch Whisky "race" past "billion $" annual sales....!!!
Then we board our flight to Melbourne........shall be posting more of Melbourne in mumsie's next blogs......

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Mumsie did mention that sometimes ago our opposite house (the house that we rented to stay whilst ours was under renovation for nearly a year...and BTW our neighbour Datuk Rahman too stayed in this house for about a year when his house was also being "rebuilt") was sold....It was bought by the contractor who renovated our house...a Mr Teoh...Well he paid A COOOOL 2.3 MILLION RINGGIT FOR this house...!!!

And look what he did to it...!!!!! Ya he flattened it within 2 days....

And when mumsie returns from Australia today....The flattened land was all "fenced up" The immediate next door neighbour to this house too sold his house for the same amount.....!!!!! So in another month or so the house below too will be flattened...THESE GUYS BOUGHT THE LAND FOR 2.3 MILLION AND NOT THE HOUSE...!!!! Mumsie will show you the "FINNISHED PRODUCT" OF Mr Teoh in a year or so....mumsie is expecting a FANTASTIC BUILDING (INSIDE AND OUTSIDE) cos being a contractor I'm sure he got everything DISCOUNTED OR FREE!!!!!!!
No wonder one of our neighbours remarked that with all these beutifull houses along our road...the value of our houses too will shooooooot up and up.....!!! MUST BE GOOD FENG SUI MAN !~!!!!!!
