CONGRATULATION TO DR DANIEL CHU !!!!

Ya Congratulation to Daniel BUT the BIGGEST CONGRATULATIONS must be to DADDA & MUMSIE !!!!!!!!!! What a HAPPY DAY !!!! Graduation is a time of pride and achievement, a culmination of hard work and SACRIFICE for NOT ONLY those graduating BUT their PARENTS !!!! Imagine the hard work and sacrifice they had to go thru to put their 'pride and joy' thru Medical Uni...some parents may even have to mortgage their house and everty thing they possess in order to get the means to put their 'pride and joy' into medicine..As for mumsie....well the "FELLA UP THERE" must be fed up with her.....the amount of PRAYERS AND ROSARIES...(somedays....nine rosaries a day for nine days!!!!) throwing at Him...during those important examinations....... Even all those "nice aunties" in the church know is "Daniel's Exams" cos mumsie asked them to pray for him TOOOOO!!!I suppose as parents the moment our child is born and from the first day they step into school the wish of seeing them wearing this "SQUARE HAT" (as the Chinese will say) or "mortar board" is our dream and HOPE!!!

Proud Dadda and Mumsie really extremely PROUD ! You can't imagine the sense of RELIEF Dadda and Mumsie are experiencing !!

Mumsie can't have enough photos with this "square hat" BOY!!! Mumsie's motto is (as Miss Wong, the nurse who had worked with mumsie for 21 years will tell you) is "to accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, and not only plan, but also believe!!" The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.....All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them....I think Miss Wong has "by-hearted" these words....And she will also tells you that mumsie dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men.

As usual (after Jie-Jie and Kor-kor) we are no stranger, we knew that we gotta spend hours and hours queing up for this type of "phot-shoot"

They were 4 photogrpahers but still gotta wait for some time....as they were more than 300s of them!! And each one of them wants to look their BEST.....

You're not supposed to photo now but somehow we managed to do so before we got stopped....Anyway can't post their "official" photo on this blog cos it will take about a month to arrive....

Look at the queue

Happy happy mumsie with Daniel's friends..

Happy Happy Happy Daniel. Hope he knows that Graduation not only marks the end of childhood, but the begining of a new chapter in life, a step across the bridge from the carefree and perhaps sheltered days of living at home- to the hustle and bustle of starting out in the 'real world'

Proud and happy Dadda ajusting Daniel's "acedemic robe"

Still doing the "final touches"

Mumsie hope that your dreams will take you to the corners of your smiles, to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of your opportunities and to the most special places your heart has ever known!!!

Mumsie bought these flowers and Dadda does the presentation...

As usual the hall is empty when mumsie arrived

Kiasu mumsie wants to make sure that she got front seats to catch DANIEL'S PROUD AND HAPPY MOMENTS....

The graduation was well planned and everthing went on smooooothly and on time . They even had lunch prepared for us....Mumsie's and family set off very early so NO BREAKFAST OR ANY DRINK TILL NOW...

Dadda must be very very very very happy too!!!

Wonder if mumsie's siblings remember what mumsie's mum used to say to us during our childhood days....She used to remind us that she may not have ANY CASH to give us except education...so MAKE FULL USE OF IT...!!! Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to "mould your life" and to change the world!!!!

Which one of them looks happier???

This type of celebrations always bring mumsie to tears....so mumsie gotta be carefull with her "make-up" NO MASCARA" for it will smudge..

Ya dunno why mumsie's tears are very "shallow" (as the chinese calls it) cos mumsie will have tearful eyes when she sees Daniel on stage receiveing his Scrolls and Medal.....

How Mumsie wish that Jie-jie and Linny are here!!!!

Here he is Danny receiveing his certificate and Dadda whispers to mumsie....hope he remembers to turn towards the "official cameraman"

Sorry unable to blog the official photos yet....supposed to arrive only after a month...

And Danny told us later that he did FORGET but was wondering why the Fella refused to let go his cert...then he remebered...GOTTA TO LOOK AT THE CAMERAMAN!!

At least he remembered when he received his medal....Hope this photo will turn up GREAT!!

After the ceremony ended the anouncer told us that the graduates are going to throw their hats in the air so mumsie got up on to her chair to get the BEST SHOT!

Can you see the hats being thrown up ?????

The beutiful chandelier in the graduation hall

The ceremony was held in a Grand hall

Showing off his medal!!!!

We arrive in good time

Kor-kor and Yee Tze During Kor-kor's graduation ceremony only Jie-jie was missing...

Wonder if Linny recognised Ern Loong???
Do they look alike????

And the list goes on but mumsie only got eyes for Dr Daniel Chu Mun Chung!!!

Mumsie thinks this photo is not bad but hope the 'official photo' will be just as nice if not better!

Well Danny Boy may have worked hard and have graduated and mumsie hope that he will agree with me that he owes a huge debt of gratitude to Dadda who have encourage him all those years whilst he was in UNI and for his support and love tooooo !!!!!

Last but not least mumsie's BEST WISHES AND EVERY SUCCESS IN YOUR FUTURE EDEAVOURS AND MAY GOD SHOWERS HIS BLESSINGS ON YOU !!!

What we are is GOD'S Gift to us ..What we become is our Gift to GOD!!!!

S' PORE'S OUTTING

Well, LINNY IS OUT OF quarantine so Dadda and Mumsie took a day off..and took Danny and Linny to S'pore..this time to Orchard Road...Mumsie's favourite "haunt" so we needn't borrow Kor-Kor's GPS...(with my eyes closed mumsie too can get there...) So here we are at Orchard Road..after parking our car....and we met up with Kor-kor for lunch and he suggested "Pasta De Waraku" The food and dining scene in Asia recently saw the mushrooming of several eateries from Japan. And Waraku is a restaurant that sets out to present Japanese cuisine "fused" with Italian pasta
So off we go
And here we are , the energy at the restaurant is unmistakable; from the choice of music to the liberal splashes of "displays of drool worthy mock-up dishes"..ooooooo...a wide sellection of colourful main courses and drinks and deserts, choosing what to eat might be the hardest hurdle to cross...
The whole walls (on both sides) are decorated with their mock-ups pasta dishes...it is easy for Danny to get over-enthusiatic with his order!
Wow with over 80 colourful main courses and first time eating Japanese mixed with pasta ect ect...other than pasta, the menu boasts a variety of scrumptious main courses ranging from Hambur steaks to curry rice.
The happy happy crowd....happier still (for musmsie) cos Kor-Kor volunteer to settle to Bill...and Happy happy Dadda cos Japanese food always placed an emphasis on healthy eating ....
Their serviet....The name "Waraku" consists of 2 chinese characters "wa" meaning harmony and "raku" meaning enjoy. I Supposed if mumsie is to get another dog...mumsie should name him/her "WARAKU'!!!...By the way "muachi" is kind of Japanese desert!
All the walls of this restaurant is plastered with this kind of decor...Its main chefs (we were told) hail from the land of the rising sun to ensure the authenticity if its dishes.
patiently waiting....
Dunno who ordered this starter....soup with salad
We shared this mini (mumsie's favourite) shashimi salad as starter...looks Italian...but sauce is Jepun...cos the crisp greens was drizzled with Japanese soya sauce and garlic and wasabi dressing and dunno what - it certaintly whetted our appetities for more to come..
?Seafood JAPANESE PASTA
Kor-kor's spaghetti lobster
Linny's Spagetti with dunno what...
Dadda's seafood spagetti with tomato sauce..
Mumsie's oyster and bacon pasta served on the classic Carbonara is deliciously creamy...
Danny ordered a "set meal" with Clam Soup Pasta as starter....
After a heavy meal....we go exercising...ie shopping....mumsie just followed the crowd ..cos nothing in mind to buy....
Took this photo cos the figurines reminded mumsie of the figurines in front of Jie-Jie's Womans' hospital in Melbourne
There mumsie managed to get this pic out from "MUMSIE'S MELBOURNE HOLIDAYS CD" S'pore's figurines are skinny but here they are more "fleshy" cos these represents pregnant women

Why pregnant women??? Cos they are placed infront of the Women's Specialist Hospital Melbourne....."The Royal Women's Hospital to be exact.....and mumsie is very very very proud ..cos this is where one of mumsie's little ones used to work...Ya Jie-Jie worked here!!!!!! The Royal Women's is Australia's largest specialist hospital dedicated to improving the health of all ages and newborn babies. It is also a major teaching hospital and a medical reseach leader of world renown. (Clever Jie-Jie)
At the entrance...
On the street...took this pic cos one can see the signboard.

Then proud mumsie went with Dadda to see another of our little one's uni....Ya Linny's....Melbourne Uni
This is the medical block
Then we wnt to College Square where Linny used to stay.....At present she has shifted.....
Linny's bathroom
Her kitchen....small...no wonder she's so skinny...hardly big enough to really cook....(and we paid about Aussie 1000/- a MONTH for this place!!!!
The corridor leading to her room
Her bedroom which really is a "bedroom" cos it can only put a bed..in a room...
The TV room...
Study place
This is what you see when one looks out her window....all the other rooms....The owner of this building is really collecting a lot of money every month......!!!!!
Back in S'pore walking thru Orchard Road Took the following photos cos these "branded" shops reminded mumsie hols in Italy where we were taken to a street where all these "brand" names were .
Down this narrow street (ITALY) is home to many of the biggest names in the fashion world as well as small boutiques, and all manner of gifts and speciality products. ..For designer labes the best area is here...directly opposite the Spanish Steps.. IF YOU BRING YOUR CREDIT CARD it will take a battering....
This stree is one of the richest streets (I think) in Italy and one ot the best streets for shopping in Rome...home to Italy's top designer stores such as Armani, Prada, Versace, Colce and Gabbana, Gucci and other notable names..
This is also the street where the shop owners used to charge you just for walking in the door!!! Thankfully these days all of the shops spot an 'ingresso gratuito' sign which means you can go in and have a poke around without any obligation to buy!!!
Look at their prices!!!!!!!
Jie-Jie should leave her credit card at home!

Rome is whithout doubt one of the main centres for shopping in Italy. Whether you are looking for high fashion, antiques, furniture or home accessories, rest assured that Rome will provide you with a huge choice. You can even admire the wonderful monuments, statues and fountains as you walk downtown for shopping

Oh mumsie took this pic with Harry Potter.......!!!~!!! Doesn't he look like Harry Potter????? Well he happens to be one of the sons of our travel companion
This is S'pore again...street performer...This guy is "juggling" and if U like his act put some money into his box....Hey this is Singapore Man...what the West can do so can they....
He wasn't good at all...so no coins from mumsie
Took this pic cos of the red spot car.....Again this is S'pore....lots and lots of beautiful imported cars on the road....
Still along Orchard Road...JB Folks got the best of both world...stay in JB BUT still can enjoy modern world facilities in S'PORE!!!!
Big signposts everywhere....

Mumsie and Dadda did a bit of shopping so the boys help to carry......as you can see
Remeber this type of hawker???? Well is still runs on Orchard Road...but he is stationary...but mumsie's childhood's ice-cream guy cycles round town.....
Talk about busking... Can you say that this old man is "busking" Busking or performing on the streets, is allowed in Singapore in order to add more life to the entertainment scene....I supposed..Howere, to prevent busking from deteriorating to begging, strict rules still applied...Mumsie was told that to qualify for perfomance licenses, buskers had to comply to certain conditions. For instance, they had to donate a part of their takings to charity or art societies. They also had to undergo auditions to ensure the quality of their performances....There U are....so this guy must be goooooooooooood
Dadda's favourite haunts
Dadda trying to explain......dunno what

Is Dadda thinking of carting this amour-guy home to join his
Darth Vader in his music room????? This guy cost S$ 10,000 !!!!!!
This guy is standing in our Music Room Maybe he needs company.....
Took a pic from the top of the shppong mall...
Then Ye Tze treet us to coffee at the Coffee Connoisseur...(tcc) suppossedly is the leading purveyor of gourmet coffees in S'pore ...which offers an extensive range of exclusive top-quality coffee using a variety of method.
It is not cheap...to drink coffee here but still got to wait for seats...Man this is SINGAPORE!!!!
Again got to chooose our drinks...quite a cosy, welcoming ambience....to appreciate our cup of coffee...
Wonder what is the difference between this and "COFFEE BEANS"?????
This is what is written on their serviet....
WHAT concentration...before Kor-kor takes his first sip of the coffee....lucky thing he is not paying....
Dadda's cuppa....
Yummie....Anyway after our coffee break we head for home..... BACK to JB...not as grand as S'PORE...Like City mouse returning to "KAMPONG"
where we don't need pay a 'bomb' to drink coffee....(sigh)

H1N1 FLU (CONTINUE)

During Linny's quarantine KFC and family came to visit her...Mitchele teasing her with a banana

ON the dot...5th day evening Dadda allowed Linny out of quarantine.....HAPPY HAPPY Linny (and happy happy happy Mumsie...honestly Mumsie doesn't expect Dadda to be that serious!!)
On that day it was announced that a total of 239 influenza A (H1N1) patients have been discharged from hospital nationwide while 87 patients were still warded, said Health director general Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican...(By the way this guy is Dadda's univerisity 's class-mate...see how high he has climbed???) A total of 1,016 people were placed in home quarantine (this number exclude Linny cos she was not "home-quarantined" by the Health Ministry but by Dadda's ministery) for being in contact with H1N1 patients but none developed flu symptoms. According to Dr Ismail 35 new cases had been detected the day before. 24 of them imported (ie 12 visited Jakarta, 5 visited Bangkok, 3 visited Melbourne, 2 visited S'pore, 1 visited Manila and 1 visited London). And all the rest (11 of them) local infections involved participants in the 4-day Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical Conference in Penang!!!! (6 foreigners and 5 Malaysians)
Then the Perak Mufti Tan Sri ........urged the government to act more strictly in curbing the spread of influenza A by banning Malaysians from travelling to high-risk countries for the time being....HE REQUESTED THE GOVERNMENT TO ORDER MALAYSIANS LIVING OR STUDYING IN HIGH-RISK COUNTRIES NOT TO RETURN HOME UNTIL THE DISEASE IS CONTAINED.....!!!!!!! (HA HA HA) This Perak Mufti continued to say that during the era of the Calliphs, Prophet Muhammad ordered the residents of a city plagued by a dangerous virus not to venture out and stopped outsiders from entering the city.......(Maybe this guy has pea-size brain.......doesn't know the difference between "dangerous virus and NOT DANGEROUS "flu" virus)
Any way Muachi was real happy to see Linny out of quarantine
and off course....Furbie tooooo

First time sitting down properly with the family after 5 days quarantine ...in our favourite spot in the garden ...having tea....

H1N1 FLU

Is it a Bird? Is it Zoro??? (minus his sword?) No it is just Kor Kor preparing himself before he meets up with Linny...

Now he is talking to Linny.....

Still hanging on to his thick towel...A mask is not good enough....
And he is a only a Singapore PR not even a Singaporean yet.....and soooooo "KIASU"
The story below.....

Flu pandemic alert is raised to phase 6...which means according to WHO is a pandemic. ..Which also means that WHO has put the world on the highest alert for the disease. Most people recover from the H1N1 FLU infection without the need for hospitalization or medical care. WHO is concerned about current patterns of serious cases and deaths that are occurring primarily among young persons, and those with pre-existing medical conditions or pregnancy (S'pore 's Radio kept on reminding us on this issue daily every hour!!!) WHO is not recommending travel restrictions yet . The main route of transmission seems to be similar to seasonal influenza, via droplets that are expelled by speaking, sneezing or coughing..You can prevent getting infected by avoiding close contact people who who influenza-like symptoms. And Malaysia is prepared for it...Our health Minister Datuk Seri Liow said the health authorities were geared up to face the threat, with heightened health measures already in place. Especialy so when he has Malaysians like our Dadda who co-operates with the "truest sense of the word" So when Linny returned from Melbourne yesterday for a very very very (will really be short after her 5 day quarantine)
short holiday...she was picked up by Azlan our driver...(Azlan who was informed to keep his distance and wear a mask the minute he meets up with Linny) then as he nears the house he gotta ring the maids who had to lock up the dogs (poor Ferbie and Muachi) then Linny is to stay on the third floor for 5 days......no nonsence...Dadda's orders...Quote from our health Minister.. "Although the fatality rate is just one per cent, we cannot take things for granted. Who knows how deadly the next wave of this virus will be?" Unquote.... Cos Melbourne HAS become the H1N1, flu capital of the world, according to a report, as the contry's confirmed tally of the disease soared.....and Linny is flying in from there, so Dadda is not taking any risks!!!!!
Dadda "visiting" Linny...on the third floor...
She seems cheerful and not minding a bit...She must thinking this is very funny.... In Melbourne you can cough your lungs out and no body bothers!!!!
Wait a few more days of this confinement she'll hit the roof...
Anyway Dadda is happy that all his instructions are being carried out.....
Danny boy is more obedient....HE uses his shirt to cover his important parts...whilst talking to Linny
Then the maid complains....Gotta to send tea and dinner up to third floor..."berapa lama macham ini???"
Linny's ice Milo and Cheese cake left by her door
While we had our tea in the garden...
Then she gotta to put the empty cups and dishes out for the maid to collect....
Yati came with disposable gloves and all to collect her dishes..for "rendam dengan ayer panas panas panas se-belum cuci"

Now to the back of the house...not to the kitchen
Linny gotta put up notices like this at the glass window to notify the maids (and visitors) so that she can have some 'peace'
Masks were put beside her door just in case there are "visitors" who wants to use them
Photo taken thru the glass window ...The next morning after a bath...she seems fresh and happy...(must be wondering what's all the fuss about...Melbourne doesn't care a hoot)
Another notice...the maid came running to mumise (Yati doen't read and write)..."tak tahu apa Celine tulis"
According to Linny at the airport nurses were placed at entry points to screen incoming visitors
Quote from the Minister..." Now we are screening people at all entry ponts and airports. If it get worse, we will ...............blah blah blah" " We will take drastic measures if we have to in order to keep it from spreading"
It also has been confirmed that quite a few people (mostly students returning home from Melbourne for holiday) were admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital) with H1N1 INFECTION.
See Dadda does not "PLAY PLAY"
